In the first quarter of 2019 Student Internet is fast approaching a figure of 3,000 student rooms to which we provide a fully managed broadband service. This remarkable growth is as a result of our expertise in designing and delivering broadband networks and our approach of fixing problems quickly and professionally, in numerous cases before the problems have manifested themselves with the students or landlords.
Having trusted Student Internet to install a high speed broadband infrastructure, many landlords have recognised in us a company that has wider broadband expertise and one which provides an easy and competitive route to exploiting the full potential of broadband. This has led to Student Internet making the infrastructure work harder for the landlord by running systems such as CCTV and access control on the broadband platform, all under a fully managed service leaving the landlord to concentrate on other elements of their business.
Recommendations from landlords has seen non-student orientated businesses coming to us to provide their critical broadband connectivity requirements. With more of these customers in our portfolio, we have reflected on whether the name ‘Student Internet’ adequately describes the type of business that we are fast becoming. Subsequently we have established ‘Umbrella Broadband’, a company that will encompass each of the broadband sectors that we currently service and, in the future, under which we can comfortably sit sister companies to Student Internet that reflect the focus of that particular business.
A new Student Internet logo and an Umbrella Broadband logo have been created to represent the different market sectors of our business, these will be rolled out in the coming months.
